- The solution integrates optimized cage layout, automation systems, and climate-adaptive design to reduce labor cost and long-term operational risk.
50000 layer farm layout
To accommodate 50000 layers in one chicken house, an H-type layer cage with 5 tiers of 240 birds capacity is used. 212 sets of the layer cages make a total of 50880 birds. To keep the length of the chicken house in a reasonable range, 4 rows with 53 sets per row is a good option.

Chicken house length: 106 m. The total length mainly includes the length of chicken cages, the length of the egg collecting machine, the length of the manure removal belt system, and the reserved length of the assembled equipment between the front and end walls. In this case, the length of chicken cages is 1.835×53=97.255 m. The length of the egg-collecting machine assembly is 2.4 m. The length for manure removal equipment assembly is 1.8 m. The reserved length from both ends is 4.545 m. So, the length of a 50000 layer farm is 97.255 + 2.4 + 1.8 + 4.545 = 106 m.
Chicken house width: 13 m. The total width is the sum of the width of 4 rows of layer cages and the width of 5 passages. That is 1.2m×4+(1.9×3+1.25×2)=13m.
Chicken house height: 4 m. The height of the layer cage is 3.44 m; plus the height of the feeding machine on top, the height of the equipment assembly is 3.79 m. It is necessary to leave space for the chicken house roof. So the total height is set to 4 m.

FAQ (frequently asked questions)
Q1. How many poultry houses are required for a 50,000 layer farm?
The number of poultry houses depends on the selected cage type, automation level, and local building conditions. In most cases, a 50,000 layer project can be designed with one or multiple houses. Our design aims to balance management efficiency, ventilation performance, and future expansion potential rather than simply minimizing the number of buildings.
Q2. Is this 50,000 layer farm design suitable for hot or tropical climates?
The design can be adapted for hot, tropical, or cold climates by adjusting ventilation systems, cooling solutions, building structure, and equipment configuration. Climate adaptation is considered at the design stage to ensure stable egg production and bird welfare under local environmental conditions.
Q3. Can the level of automation be adjusted based on budget and labor availability?
Absolutely. The 50,000 layer poultry farm design supports both semi-automatic and fully automatic configurations. Automation level can be selected according to labor cost, management preference, and investment plan, without affecting the core layout or future upgrade capability.
Q4. Is future expansion possible with this farm design?
Yes. The design follows a modular and scalable concept, allowing additional cage rows, extra houses, or increased automation to be added in the future. This ensures the farm can grow from 50,000 layers to a larger capacity without major structural changes.
Q5. How much land is required for a 50,000 layer poultry farm?
Land requirements vary depending on house layout, number of buildings, zoning design, and biosecurity spacing. Instead of using a fixed land size, we design the farm layout based on the actual available land to maximize space efficiency while maintaining proper farm management and biosecurity standards.
Q6. Do you provide technical support during installation and operation?
Yes. In addition to equipment supply, we provide technical guidance for installation, commissioning, and long-term operation. Our support is based on real project experience and aims to ensure the farm operates smoothly after delivery, not just at the installation stage.
