# Poultry House Plans For 10000 Chickens

## Poultry house plans for 10000 Layers

Chicken house size: L × W × H =262.47 ft × 39.34ft × 9.84ft (80m×12m × 3m )
Chicken cage type: A type, 3 tiers layer cage
Chicken cage size: 2.15m×2.3m×1.5m
Chicken cage layout: 120chickens/set 30 sets/row  3 rows/house
Total capacity of the chicken house: 3*30sets=90sets, 90 sets *120 chickens/set =10800 chickens/house

## The layout of the poultry house for 10,000 layers

### Sets of chicken cages needed

Take the layout of the 3-tier A type layer cage in the poultry house for 10,000 layers for example. Let’s first calculate the number of cages needed in the shed. One set of A type 3 tier chicken cages can accommodate 120 chickens, so 10,000 layers will need 90 sets of chicken cages.

### Length design of the 10, 000 layers of poultry house

The tier Alength of one set of 3  type layer cages is 2.15m, so if put all sets of the cages in one row, it would be longer than 120m. It is not acceptable when building a chicken house. When we make a poultry house plan, it is necessary to leave space at both ends of the shed, which is normally at least 8 meters. One possible design of the poultry house is 3 rows. 2.15+0.035(gap)=2.185. 2.185m is the length of one set of cages.

So the total length of the chicken house is: 2.185m*30sets+8m=75.735m Please note the reserved length from the cage row to the wall can be wider.

### Width design of the 10, 000 layers of poultry house

The total width of the poultry house plant for 10,000 layers should be the width of 3 rows of layer cages plus the width of the 4 aisles.

Total width：2.3m(cage width)*3row+4.75(isle)=11.65m

### Height design of the 10, 000 layers of poultry house

The height of the chicken house can be roughly estimated according to how many decks the battery cage has. For example, this is a 3-tier layer cage, so the height of the shed could be 3 meters or higher.

## Poultry house plans for 10000 broilers

Chicken house size:L × W × H = 236.22ft × 26.25ft × 13.12ft (72m×8m × 4m)
Chicken cage type: A type, 4 tiers broiler cage
Chicken cage size: 1.84m×2.21m×1.865m
Chicken cage layout: 144chickens/set 35 sets/row  2 rows/house
Total capacity of the chicken house:  2*35sets=70sets, 70 sets *144 chickens/set =10080 chickens/house

## The layout of the poultry house for 10,000 broilers

### Sets of chicken cages calculation

Take the layout of the 4-tier A type broiler cage in the poultry house for 10,000 broilers for example. Let’s first calculate the number of cages needed in the shed. One set of A type 3 tier chicken cages can accommodate 144 chickens, so 10,000 layers will need 70 sets of chicken cages.

### Length design of the 10,000 broilers poultry house

The length of one set of 3 tier A type broiler cages is 2.21m, so if put all sets of the cages in one row, it would be longer than 120m. It is not acceptable when building a chicken house. Like the previous plan for 10,000 layers, it is necessary to leave space at both ends of the broiler chicken shed too. Generally speaking, the smallest distance reserved between the broiler cage and the wall is 6 meters.

Total Length：1.84m(cage length)+0.035m(gap)=1.875m 1.875m*35sets+6m=71.625m

### Width design of the 10,000 broilers poultry house

The total width of the poultry house plant for 10,000 layers should be the width of 2 rows of broiler cages plus the width of the 4 aisles.
Width：2.665m（cage with feeding machine）*2 +2.67m =8m

### Height design of the 10,000 broilers poultry house

The height of the poultry house for 10,000 broilers is about 4 meters.

## Things need to pay attention to when designing a poultry house

### space requirements

Allow enough space for each bird to ensure their comfort and health. Recommended space per bird varies by breed and regulations, but a general guideline is about 2-4 square feet per bird.
Consider the space required for different stages of a chicken's life, such as hatching, growing, and laying eggs.

### ventilation

Proper ventilation is important for maintaining good air quality and controlling temperature and humidity.
It provides adequate air exchange to prevent the formation of harmful gases such as ammonia, reducing the risk of respiratory illness.

### Lighting

Install a proper lighting system to promote healthy growth, reproduction, and spawning.
Maintain the recommended light cycle (light-dark cycle) at each stage of a chicken's life.

### Temperature control

Design the house with insulation and ventilation systems to regulate the temperature inside the house.
Consider your local climate and integrate your heating and cooling system if necessary.

### Disease prevention and biosecurity

Implement biosecurity measures to prevent disease entry and spread. Design poultry houses to minimize cross-contamination and separate areas for different ages and stages of production.
Plan proper cleaning and disinfection procedures to maintain a sanitary environment.

### Availability of food and water

Consider automatic feeding and watering systems to optimize efficiency and minimize effort.

### Waste management

Plan an appropriate waste management system for handling manure and other waste. Consider composting, waste disposal, or other disposal methods that comply with local regulations.

### Security and robbery

Design poultry houses to protect birds from predators and unauthorized access.
Install appropriate fencing, locks, and security measures to ensure safety.

### Accessibility and ergonomics

Provide easy access for feeding, watering, and egg collection.
Design corridors and entrances to accommodate equipment, vehicles, and personnel.

## Auxiliarry equipment for 10000 chicken house plan

Like we just discussed, the ventilation, lighting, temperature control, food and water supply, waste management, are all important when designing a poultry house. Some poultry farm equipment are necessary to complete the task every day. They not only guarantee the clean, safe environment and well-being of chickens, but also free labors from long hard hours of cleaning up the chicken manure and other wastes.
